Many people love to splash out on gifts for the ones they love. Whether it be for a special occasion such as an anniversary, birthday or Christmas, or just on the spur of the moment, there is nothing quite like seeing a loved one’s face break into a huge smile.
Gifts come in all shapes and sizes and can be something huge such as a holiday or new car, or something small such as a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers. However, it’s not just for other people that we often buy gifts.
A lot of the time, many people splash out on something fun or quirky for their pets. You can find a wide range of items for all types of pets, beside cats and dogs. You can find snacks for your ferrets, hedgehog toys, sweaters for hamsters and much more.
Our pet cats and dogs have a right to be surprised with a gift every now and then, and for our four legged friends, there are lots of funny and strange things that you can pick up for them.
Cat Stands
Cats like to stand above everyone else. There is something that empowers them to feel the need to be above everyone else, and if you are a cat owner, you’ll probably have noticed your cat in some very weird places, such as sitting on the top of an open door, on the top of a shelf, or on a cabinet in the kitchen.
If your cat is one that likes climbing about everywhere in the house, why not consider picking up a cat stand or tower for them. They come in a variety of designs, shapes and sizes, and there are lots of places for your cat to climb up onto, and then jump off again.
Dog Toys
If you are a dog owner you will be aware of the hundreds of different plastic and squeaky toys that you can pick up for your pets. They come in a huge range of different shapes, with one of the most popular being in the shape of a bone, as well as many colours and sizes.
There are other types of items you can pick up for your canine friend, which are slightly more unusual. These include balls that contain dog snacks, and the dog has to push or pull the ball around in certain ways to release the snacks. These are great for offering a stimulating activity for your pet.
There are also a number of different food bowls that can offer amusement and stimulation for your pet, rather than just being a plain old plastic food bowl.
Pet Apps for Tablets
There are a number of different apps that you can download to your tablets that are specifically developed for animals. There are several apps for catswhich feature a shape or figure that moves across the screen, and your pet has to press down on it to win points.
It is advisable to have a cover protecting the screen of your tablet, otherwise you might see it quickly get covered in scratch marks.
Umbrellas
Dogs love to be walked no matter what the weather, but there are times when you might not want your dog to come back soaking wet into the house. If that’s the case, why not consider a dog umbrella. It’s like a regular umbrella with a handle, but instead of holding it up, you hold it down over your dog.
They might not be the most practical of items, but if you have a pet dog and walk it with your kids, they are bound to have lots of fun with it.
Beds for pets
Most cats and dogs are happy with a cushion somewhere in the house where they can sit or lie down and rest their bones after a hard day being a pet. However, sometimes you might want to offer your pet something a little more interesting, and there are lots of different pet bedsand cushions that you can get for them.
One of the most weird is a shark bed, which is literally a soft fluffy shark with it’s mouth open wide, with a soft cushion inside on which your pet can lie down.
Something for the fish tank
If you’ve got fish at home, then you will most likely already have some additional pieces inside the fish tank such as colorful wreaths, an ancient Roman column, or a partially hidden treasure chest. Why not spruce up your fish tank with something usual such as a range of Spongebob Square pants figures. The kids will love them and your fish tank will take on a whole new meaning.
If you are planning on adding anything for your fish to enjoy, you must make sure that it is suitable for a fish tank, and is not a regular plastic toy, which may cause problems.
